Starting pitcher Blake Maze pitched well enough to help the Hampton Orioles beat the Fayetteville Frogs, 5-4. Maze got the win, improving to 5-3. He gave up 9 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Carmelo Olea nailed down the save.

Ryder McCoy had a big 3-run home run for the Orioles in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Hampton leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Frank Allen and swatted a home run to left. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orioles ahead, 5-1.

"Blake gave us a really strong effort," said Hampton manager Kyle Kovac.

The victory gives the Orioles a record of 32-15.
