Late Rally by Stampede Locks Up 7-5 Win
|
The Lethbridge Black Diamonds got a superb performance from pitcher Max Kennedy. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Medicine Hat. The Stampede won the game, 7-5. Kennedy threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. Earning his 9th save of the year was Scott Austin. The Stampede, now 17-8, have won 4 in a row.
Stephen Ferdinand chipped in for Medicine Hat with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Ferdinand.
