Mountaineers Drop Mets, 10-3

The Erwin Mountaineers beat the Kingsport Mets, 10-3, at Hunter Wright Stadium. Erwin catcher Donald Fleming had an outstanding performance. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Jorge Cadena earned the save, his 2nd, for the Mountaineers. Kingsport has now lost 4 in a row.
Erwin used a clutch at-bat from Charlie Rubin to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mountaineers ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Rubin.
