Ferdinand Stars for Stampede in 4-2 Win
|
Stephen Ferdinand knocked in all 4 runs for the Medicine Hat Stampede, helping them beat the Welch Miners, 4-2. Medicine Hat reliever Smokey Evans picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Gus Tack shouldered the loss. Jack Diaz earned the save, his 1st.
Ferdinand had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 fastball from Gus Tack, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Stampede a 4-2 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Ferdinand.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Ferdinand.
