The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Elizabethton Twins defeated the Bluefield Blue Jays, 1-0, in Appalachian League action at Joe O'Brien Field. Elizabethton pitcher Dario García had a standout performance. Ty Arthur finished to wrap up his 12th save.
García was in the zone, shutting down Bluefield hitters over 7 innings. García, who threw 78 pitches, allowed no runs on 2 hits. He also tallied 4 punchouts.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said García.
Elizabethton's record now stands at 23-16, placing them second in the Appalachian League West Division.
