4-2 Loss Extends Bluefield Skid
|
The Kinston Indians beat the Bluefield Blue Jays, 4-2. Kinston pitcher and Knoxville, Tennessee, native Osvaldo Stutts led the way. The winner was Kinston reliever Keanu Ribble, now 1-0. The loser was Bruce McCann. Timmy Hiett earned save number 5 this season.
Had J.C. Hector not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hector hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Indians.
"I still think this team can play even better," Stutts told the Kinston Today.
The win puts Kinston at 15-6 this season.
