Loss to Mountaineers Extends Burlington Losing Streak
|
Mountaineers first baseman Sylvester Charles left his mark on his team's 6-2 win over the Burlington Royals. Charles went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Erwin in the contest. The win was credited to Emiliano Duran in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Yoshua Cisneros took the loss. This loss makes it 13 in a row for Burlington.
With Erwin leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Charles hit a run-scoring single off Burlington hurler Yoshua Cisneros. It was the 22nd hit of the season for Charles and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"We certainly don't want to get used to losing," said losing manager Howard Charles.
