Blue Jays Handle Burlington, Snag 10-2 Win
The Bluefield Blue Jays stopped the Burlington Royals, 10-2, at Burlington Athletic Stadium. The Blue Jays got a big game from Bernard Lawson, who was 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Bluefield pitcher Myles Plumber earned the win, hiking his record to 4-0. Greggory Catalanotto suffered the loss. Samuel Torres earned the save for Bluefield, his 1st of the year.

Bluefield used a clutch at-bat from Kiyotaka Matsuo to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We came out aggressive," said Blue Jays manager Lance Rivera. "We came out swinging the bats."

With the win, Bluefield goes to 27-11, while the Royals fall to 15-23.
