With Late Score, Royals Beat Mets
|
In a close game at Burlington Athletic Stadium, the Burlington Royals edged the Kingsport Mets, 4-3. Burlington designated hitter Evan Albaugh stood apart with his performance. He was 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Burlington reliever Leonardo Rios picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Davian Fuller took the loss. The Royals go to 2-31 with the win.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Albaugh hit a fastball from Davian Fuller for a solo home run. The Royals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Kingsport manager Blake Nelson.
