In 11, Delco Sinks Burlington, 7-4
|
The Delco Jawns got a hard-earned win over the Burlington Royals, 7-4, in 11 innings. Peter Williams provided some offensive muscle for Delco. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4. Delco reliever John Artiaga picked up the win, while Yusdelvis Reyes took the loss for Burlington. The losses continue to add up for Burlington, having now dropped 10 straight.
It could have been a different outcome for Delco, had it not been for Axel Christensen, the 22-year old second baseman . Christensen contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the 11th inning to put Delco up, 5-4.
Afterward, Burlington manager Howard Charles said: "Every team has a bad week."
