Though he had a terrific game, Chima Erasmus could not prevent his team, the Hampton Orioles, from absorbing a loss. Elizabethton won the game, 6-4. Erasmus slugged 2 home runs. Luis Machado collected his 2nd save. The second-place Twins have won 5 in a row.

It could have been a different outcome for Elizabethton, had it not been for Lew Lyles, the 20-year old first baseman . Lyles contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Elizabethton up, 6-4.

Lyles attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
