Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Hobart Dotson the Raleigh Cubs defeated the Bluefield Blue Jays, 3-2. Jameson McKelvey earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. The 5th-place Blue Jays dropped to 17-12.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Cubs had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when shortstop Martino Jiménez hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Lorenzo Ruíz and made the score 2-1, Cubs. Jiménez went 1 for 4.

After the game, Raleigh manager Liam Roberts applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
