Bluefield Bats Quiet in 6-1 Loss
|
The Delco Jawns rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Renny Townsend to a win, beating the Bluefield Blue Jays, 6-1, at Bowen Field. Nathan Caufield stitched up the save, his 1st. The win boosted Delco to 15-12.
Delco relied on the bat of Julian MacLean to get the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Jawns ahead, 3-1. For the game, MacLean had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said Delco manager Salvador Ferreira.
