Burlington Gets Another L
|
Connor Piccirillo was a major contributor to the 6-4 Blue Ridge win over Burlington. The Bulldogs first baseman was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Blue Ridge reliever Parker Frizzell picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Guillermo Bolanos was tagged with the loss. Now 1-23, Burlington has lost 17 in a row.
Piccirillo had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-1 changeup from Guillermo Bolanos, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Bulldogs a 5-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Piccirillo.
Burlington manager Howard Charles said after the game: "It seems like when our pitching is there our bats haven't been and then vice versa. Right now we're just waiting for it all to click."
