The Reidsville Red Sox took on the Bluefield Blue Jays at Reidsville Fields.
Eric Baker never let Bluefield get something going. The Reidsville right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Red Sox to a 5-0 win. Today's win puts Reidsville at 8-15, while Bluefield falls to 15-8.
Reidsville took a 3-0 lead on Peter Özen's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Özen hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bluefield pitcher Brayden Reed visibly frustrated.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Özen told a Reidsville Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
