Bluefield pitcher Ugueth Salgado did his part in helping his team defeat the Danville Braves, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Salgado picked up the win for Bluefield, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Miguel De Jesus earned the save for Bluefield, his 3rd of the year.
Rudier Tafoya had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the Bluefield designated hitter hit a run-scoring single. That put the Blue Jays in front, 3-2.
Salgado attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
The Braves, now 7-15, have lost 4 straight.
