Pirates Get Plucky, 4-3 Win Over Braves
|
The Bristol Pirates and Danville Braves played an exciting game.
The Bristol Pirates defeated the Danville Braves, 4-3. Doing his part was catcher Houshmand Mokhtarian, who was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ollie Navarro was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Beau Groetken.
Mokhtarian had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 0-2 sinker from Hudson Hill, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Pirates a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Mokhtarian.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Mokhtarian said. "That's why you play the game."
Bristol now sits at 12-9, while Danville falls to 11-10.
