Blue Jays Drop Contest, 3-1, to Blue Ridge
The exploits of shortstop Brian Bringle, who is tied for 8th in the APP in RBI with 11, helped the Blue Ridge Bulldogs defeat the Bluefield Blue Jays, 3-1. Bringle was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. John Valentine recorded his 3rd save for Blue Ridge. The Bulldogs move to 12-4 with the win, while the Blue Jays drop to 10-6.

With Blue Ridge leading 2-1 in the top of the eighth, Bringle hit a run-scoring single off Bluefield hurler Yaisnier Matos. It was the 15th hit of the season for Bringle and put his team ahead, 3-1.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Bringle told the Blue Ridge Daily.
