Echelberger, Blue Jays Get Tidy 3-0 Win Over Reidsville
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Bluefield Blue Jays and the Reidsville Red Sox, 20-year old right-handed pitcher Nathaniel Echelberger proved to be the difference. The Bluefield right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Blue Jays win. The save was Miguel De Jesus's, his 1st. The 6th-place Blue Jays hiked their record to 7-8.
The Blue Jays liked what they saw from Echelberger. The 20-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Red Sox to no runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, and striking out 8.
Echelberger told a Bluefield Observer reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."
