Bulldogs Slap 3-1 Loss on Erwin
|
Blue Ridge took on Erwin in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Roy Collins, in particular, was fantastic. The Blue Ridge right-hander helped his team snag the win, 3-1. Earning his 1st save of the year was Nattino Algarin. The loss drops Erwin to 8-4.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Hélio Vega? The Blue Ridge left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bulldogs on top, 2-0. For the game, Vega had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Makes our job easier," said Vega, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
