Braves Throttled by Cubs, 8-1
|
The 3-RBI night of right fielder Timmy Sloan helped the Raleigh Cubs triumph, 8-1, over the Danville Braves. Danville is 4-7 after the loss.
With Raleigh leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Sloan hit a fastball from Martin Langston for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 5-0.
"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Troy Bennett.
