Kingsport Drops Another One, 2-0
|
The Pulaski Yankees used a great performance from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Joseph Peter to beat the Kingsport Mets, 2-0, at Calfee Park. Peter, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Stig Alford picked up his 1st save of the season.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Kingsport trailing 2-0, Stig Alford needed to get a big out. On a full count fastball, C.J. Cederland grounded out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
With the win, Pulaski improves its record to 3-7.
