Indians Claim 5-0 Triumph
|
The Kinston Indians locked up a win at Ballpark of Kinston, knocking off the Harlan Smokies, 5-0. On the mound for Kinston was right-hander Ryan Jamison. He played a major role in the triumph. The win gives Kinston a record of 10-3.
Gil Jacobson, who is tied for 7th in the APP in total bases with 28, took Harlan hurler Dolf Dyer deep in the bottom of the sixth. His solo home run put the Indians on top, 1-0. In all, Jacobson had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Jamison told the Kinston Today. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
