Bulldogs Stymie Kinston, Take 4-1 Win
|
The Blue Ridge Bulldogs topped the Kinston Indians, 4-1, in Appalachian League action at Ballpark of Blue Ridge. The game was highlighted by the performance of Blue Ridge pitcher Dwight Porter. The win leaves Blue Ridge with a record of 10-1.
Blue Ridge center fielder Dylan Cochrane contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 19th hit of the season and put the Bulldogs ahead, 2-0.
"It's Baseball 101," said Blue Ridge manager Wynn Love. "Fundamentals."
