Mets Defeat Blue Jays in 13
|
The Kingsport Mets took Bluefield pitcher Randy Bowman's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Bowen Field. The final score had Kingsport getting past the Blue Jays, 4-2. Bowman went 8.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 10. The Mets, now 6-2, have been playing some good baseball.
Kingsport used the timely hitting of Harrison Young to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Mets on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"That was fun, that was just good baseball," said Young.
