The Reidsville Red Sox went down to defeat to Zachariah Thackray and his Elizabethton teammates. The final score was 8-0, in favor of the Twins. The win gives Elizabethton a record of 4-2.
The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Thackray. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Twins. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Red Sox, striking out 9 and scattering 6 hits over 8.1 innings. Thackray is now 1-0 on the season.
"Zachariah didn't beat around the bush," said Elizabethton field general Gerard Grillo. "He was all business."
