|
Reidsville pitcher Levi Temples had a large part in his team subduing the Burlington Royals, 7-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Temples, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Picking up the save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Sandro Soto.
Reidsville used the hitting of Jayden Paine to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Red Sox on top, 3-0. For the game, Paine had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"They beat us fair and square," Burlington skipper Howard Charles said.
With the loss, Burlington is 0-4.
