Runs were plentiful at Bowen Field.

In a high-scoring contest between Bluefield and Reidsville, left fielder Rocco Piar was a difference-maker. Piar distinguished himself in the 18-10 Bluefield win. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 6. Andy Maloney came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Blue Jays grabbed the lead when Piar hit his 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Dylan Jordan made it 13-10, Bluefield.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Piar.
