Gallagher Sizzles -- Smokes Dodgers for 5 Hits
|
The Montgomery Rebels stopped the Albuquerque Dodgers by a score of 8-1 at Paterson Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Bob Gallagher. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Gallagher said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Gallagher did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Dodgers.
"Not much that I can say," offered Albuquerque manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Bob Gallagher singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and doubled in the 7th.
This year Gallagher is hitting .297 with 7 home runs and 39 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .354 clip and scored 63 runs.
