Guerne Sizzles, Palm Beach Fizzles Friday, June 1st , 2029 Paul Guerne bent a little, but he didn't break against the Palm Beach Cardinals. The Lakeland Flying Tigers pitcher hurled a 5-hit, 4-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering no walks and tallying 6 strikeouts. "Paul is good at getting out of jams," Flying Tigers manager Edwar Ramirez told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you." On the season, Guerne has compiled a 5-3 mark with a 2.94 ERA in 9 starts. In pitching 70.1 innings he has 45 strikeouts and 13 walks while limiting the opposition to a .247 batting average.
