Cardinals Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire

When the entire season comes down to one game, David Herrada said you find out what a team is really about.
As it turns out, the Palm Beach Cardinals are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Dunedin Blue Jays 6-2 tonight at Roger Dean Stadium in order to win the Round 1 and book a place in the next round.
"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Herrada, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."
Herrada hit .286 with a .394 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 4 runs.

Marauders Win Round 1

The sweet swing of Jeff Vance has led his team through the Round 1.
The Bradenton Marauders star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Daytona Tortugas to advance to the Round 2.
The Marauders won the final game at LECOM Park by a score of 4-3 and the series 4-2.
"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Vance. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."
For the series, Vance hit .308 with a .379 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Bradenton Marauders don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Dunedin Blue Jays - Palm Beach Cardinals series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
