San Jose Wins Round 2! Saturday, October 1st , 2033 With a 16-4 win over the Visalia Rawhide tonight at Recreation Park, the San Jose Giants wrapped up their 5th title in team history. San Jose left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Giants celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said San Jose manager Jim Parque. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as San Jose celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship San Jose Giants," the mayor said. The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Northern Division and a 82-50 record. View Boxscore |
