West Michigan Held Hitless by Grimm Sunday, June 27th , 2032 Lansing Lugnuts starter Jim Grimm came up big at Jackson Field with an exceptional 10-0 win against the West Michigan Whitecaps. Not only did he whip them, but Grimm held them hitless, too. "My arm was a bit sore in warmups," confessed Grimm. "Sometimes you go out there and you're not feeling all that hot. You get into the game and all of a sudden in the seventh inning you look up and see the scoreboard and think to yourself, 'Oh, my goodness, I have a no-hitter!' You're so focused on what you're doing, it just happens." In the course of the no-hitter, Grimm collected 15 strikeouts and surrendered 1 walk -- a day good enough to get his name in the history books. Checking out his stats for the year, Grimm has racked up 6 wins and 1 loss in 14 starts, posted a 0.27 ERA, and struck out 119 batters in 100 innings. View Boxscore |
