Law Tabbed as May's Starter of the Month

There was little doubt around the Midwest League that Bobby Law would be awarded Pitcher of the Month honors for May. Today, they made it official, naming the 22-year-old Peoria Chiefs starter the latest honoree.
He thoroughly dominated the hitters who stood in against him, holding them to a .194 batting average while fashioning a 0.94 ERA in 6 starts. His record for the month was 4-0 in 38.1 innings of work.
This year, Law has compiled a 6-0 record with a 1.57 ERA.

Fort Wayne's Arteta Chosen MWL Batter of the Month

Wilson Arteta may be much younger than other hitters in the Midwest League, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in May to win the Batter of the Month award.
The 22-year-old Fort Wayne third baseman hit .225 with 5 home runs, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
This year, Arteta is batting .190 with 5 home runs. He has scored 16 runs and driven in 14.

Thurston Suspended by League
Wednesday, June 1st , 2033
Quad Cities River Bandits right fielder Jimmy Thurston was suspended 4 games by the league commissioner today, a day after arguing his ejection during a game against the West Michigan Whitecaps.
"I think the 4 games are a little harsh," Thurston said.
He was ejected by plate umpire for arguing balls and strikes.
After his ejection, Thurston went into the dugout, then came back on the field, argued with the umpire and had to be restrained by coaches and teammates. The suspension was issued for "unbecoming conduct and returning to the field of play after being dismissed."
So far this season, Thurston has put up a .226 batting average with 26 hits, 4 home runs and 12 RBIs.
