Noel Bashes 3 HR for Lake County Tuesday, September 9th , 2031 Jhonkensy Noel went on an explosive hitting spree against the Great Lakes Loons at Classic Park, launching a trio of blasts to help the Lake County Captains win, 11-4. The first baseman finished 4-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 7 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Noel said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Great Lakes skipper Mike Hill said Noel was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Jhonkensy Noel hit a two-run home run off Jorge Aguayo in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jackson Pace in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Ignacio Sandate in the 8th. At the moment, Noel is batting .234 with 8 home runs and 23 RBIs. He has played in 26 games and scored 14 times. |
