Midwest League Announces August's Top Pitcher Monday, September 1st , 2031 Last month's cream of the crop on the mound was Juan Vargas of the Fort Wayne TinCaps. He captured the Midwest League Pitcher of the Month award for his outstanding performance in August. Vargas started 5 games, threw 38 innings, yielded 28 hits and logged a 4-1 record. He put down 38 batters on strikes, walked 13 and compiled a 0.71 ERA. Opposing teams batted .207 against him. This season, Vargas has compiled a 6-3 record with a 1.79 ERA in 11 starts. |
