Slabach Gets Award for Relief Work

At the young age of only 19, Chris Slabach has been named the South Atlantic League Reliever of the Year winner for 2031.

The future appears bright for the Wilmington Blue Rocks relief ace, who captured the award with 22 saves in 46 relief appearances, 57 strikeouts in 58 innings and a record of 6-6 to go with his 1.71 ERA.

He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 12. Chuck Webster of the Hudson Valley Renegades finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Sean Welch of the Asheville Tourists finished third with 1 first place vote.
