At the age of 22, Jabari Stanciel of the Bowling Green Hot Rods could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2031 was good enough to win the left fielder the South Atlantic League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .344 batting average this year, as well as a .399 on-base percentage. He played 111 games and racked up 145 hits, 6 doubles, 7 triples, 16 home runs, 49 RBIs and 55 runs scored.
He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Wesley Zapata of the Greensboro Grasshoppers finished second in voting, while Josh Robertson of the Rome Braves finished third.
