MacCormack Fires Shutout in Smokies Victory
Wednesday, September 8th , 2032
Before the game, Jessie MacCormack said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, the Smokies pitcher blanked the Montgomery Biscuits, 1-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," MacCormack said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my fastball even when I was behind in the count."
The Tennessee starter held Montgomery scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 4 strikeouts and issuing no walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Biscuits manager Brian Smith said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
This season, MacCormack has 8 wins and 8 losses and a 2.20 ERA.
