Guardians Blank Kansas City, Ulloa Winner
Thursday, April 19th , 2035
The Kansas City Royals were almost helpless in their 3-0 loss to the Cleveland Guardians and hurler Lazaro Ulloa. Ulloa kept the Royals confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Ulloa," Kansas City manager Ethan Delaneye said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 26-year-old left-hander had no walks and 9 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Ulloa said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
This season, Ulloa has fashioned a 2-0 mark and 2.49 ERA in 25.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .189 against him and he has logged 27 strikeouts.
