Sunday, July 11th , 2032
After an intense confrontation, both the Angels Ismael Venegas and the Mets Jay Groome were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Los Angeles-New York game. Ismael Venegas will miss 5 games, while Jay Groome was suspended for 6 games.

"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Ismael Venegas commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."

So far this year, Venegas is batting .264 with 15 home runs.

In 14 starts this season, Groome has compiled a 1-6 record and a 4.47 ERA.
