Sunday, September 7th , 2031
Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Reds-Phillies game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Cincinnati shortstop Gavin Guidry thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Cincinnati to a win, 9-5, over Philadelphia.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Guidry said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Guidry, who led the NL in stolen bases with 47 in 2029, was 3-for-5 on the day with 5 RBI.
Gavin Guidry struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Sixto Sanchez in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Sixto Sanchez in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jaron Nevarez in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th.
In his season totals Guidry has 11 home runs and a .249 batting average.
