Ironbirds Cruise to Round 2 with Sweep Monday, September 18th , 2028 Alexander Ramirez said he expected the Round 1 to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Aberdeen Ironbirds encountered little resistance in sweeping the Batavia Muckdogs, to advance to the Round 2. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Ramirez. Aberdeen won the final game by a 6-1 count and were led in the series by Ramirez, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .364 with 2 home runs. He also drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Aberdeen Ironbirds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Tri-City ValleyCats - Vermont Lake Monsters series. Vermont leads the series 2 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
