Hits Galore: Diaz Drills 5 Hits Tuesday, September 5th , 2028 It was a hits blitz for Alfredo Diaz at Bowman Field today. The Williamsport Crosscutters center fielder tore into the Mahoning Valley Scrappers for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Scrappers swept past the Crosscutters 10-8 to ruin Diaz's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Williamsport manager Matt Walbeck explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Alfredo was nice but it wasn't enough." Alfredo Diaz hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
