Bobby Padilla Picked CAR's Best Player

At the age of 21, Bobby Padilla of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2028 was good enough to win the shortstop the Carolina League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .298 batting average this year, as well as a .373 on-base percentage. He played 100 games and racked up 115 hits, 26 doubles, 3 triples, 21 home runs, 70 RBIs and 66 runs scored.
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 10. Jeff Conn of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Xavier Cashmore of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers finished third.
