Marlins Edged by Braves, 4-2
|
Atlanta shortstop Kahlil Watson was instrumental in helping the Braves triumph, 4-2, over the Miami Marlins. Watson went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The winner was Atlanta reliever Genesis Cabrera, now 1-1. The loser was Samuel Valerio. Seranthony Dominguez sewed up the save, his 3rd.
Watson had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch changeup from Samuel Valerio, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Braves a 3-2 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Watson.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Watson. "You've got to get results."
The Marlins fall to 11-14 and continue their sputtering start to the 2030 season.
