Giants Reel-In 5-4 Win Over Rangers
|
The 5-4 San Francisco win over Texas was due in large part to Marco Luciano. The Giants third baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Nick Dugan, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. Picking up his 5th save was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Gregory Santos.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 25-year old left fielder Carlos Rosario. Rosario had a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Giants ahead, 5-4. For the game, Rosario had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
San Francisco manager Cullen Cooney commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
San Francisco goes to 11-14.
