Phillies Win, Now 14-10
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Philadelphia Phillies got the win.
Washington got a terrific game from right fielder Josh China. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Philadelphia, 4-2. China was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Franklin Dacosta snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 3-1 on the season.
Dean West, who finished 4th in the NL in stolen bases with 37 in 2027, helped out the Philadelphia cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 1-5.
Philadelphia manager Ethan Baker said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
Washington, with the loss, is still a stout 17-6.
