Luna Raps Stockton for 5 Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead Modesto's 10-5 victory over the Stockton Ports, second baseman Jesus Luna told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the California League-level is really something special."

The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at John Thurman Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Ports.

"His swing is getting there," said Nuts skipper Andre Ethier, who spoke glowingly of Luna after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jesus did that to perfection."

Jesus Luna singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

So far this year, Luna has hit .339 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
