Angels Come Up Short at Houston, 7-6
|
Sam Yelton did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Los Angeles Angels from being beaten, 7-6, to the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Yelton was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Seth Johnson. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 0. The Angels, now 3-10, continue their poor start.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Everett Johnson had a game-changing hit. The Astros left fielder slammed a 2-run single off Jose Salvador, making the score 7-4, Houston.
"I like to lead by example," said Johnson. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
